Kids reckon a three-bed home costs £3,000 – but would only buy if it came with a treehouse!

The property market is a minefield at the best of times, so hilarity has naturally ensued thanks to a new poll that asked children for their thoughts on buying a home.

The poll, by estate agent Chestertons, asked 3,000 children how much they thought a family home would cost them.

In glorious fashion, it was declared that about £3k should get you on the property ladder.

We can but dream!

The respondents in the survey were also asked for their most important factor when choosing a new home.

While the adults, naturally, went for good schools in the area, original features and off-road parking, the little ones were much more forward-thinking, choosing a treehouse (or option to build!), a swimming pool and, rather brilliantly, ‘at least three good hiding places'.

The little ones also admitted they thought ‘house deeds' meant chores that needed doing around the house, ‘the property ladder'
was something that people got out of the loft to help with DIY, and that they would be the proud owner of their first pad by the grand old age of 19.

PAH!

So, to recap: A three bedroom home for £3k with a treehouse, pool and three pretty decent hiding places, all by the age of 19.
